Who is that with Jeremy?
Jeremy & The Staten Island Yankees · September 05, 2005
During Labor Day Weekend, my mommy and daddy and I went to see The Staten Island Yankees play the Aberdeen Ironbirds. It was my 2nd Staten Island Yankees game and they won with two out in the bottom of the ninth. It was all very exciting, but what was really exciting was that I got to run the bases during the game. (Don't worry, it was between innings!) Here are some pictures!
When we entered The Richmond County Ballpark at St. George to see The Staten Island Yankees, we were greeted by Scooter, the Holy Cow, one of the mascots of the team. We had some hot dogs and soda (a treat for me) and went to the stands.
Before the game we saw some of the players signing autographs and taking pictures. I had mine taken with the catcher, PJ Pilittere, who later went on to bat in the tying run in the bottom of the ninth. I closed my eyes while taking this picture, I think I was wishing for an exciting game!
This is me with Keith Olbermann, MSNBC & ESPN Host. Here was there to throw out the first ball of the game.
Here i am with Red, one of the teams mascots, getting ready to run teh bases. In these pictures, you can see some of the players on the field.
Here I go to first base!
As I rounded third base, I got scooped up by Huck, the third mascot for the Yanks. You can even see me up on the scoreboard! Huck and Kristen, who works for the Yanks, carried me back to home plate where my dad was waiting.
After my run, I had my picture taken with Scooter, Red and Huck, my new pals! If you are ever in Staten Island, please take a trip to see the Staten Island Yankees!. It's lots of fun and the folks there (and the mascots) are the best!
